How to create a stunning profile page?

When you're a registered member of ALTPARTY, you'll be the lucky owner of a personal profile page. With this page, which is only visible for other members, you have the opportunity to create a distinct profile of yourself and show yourself off to other members of the community. This short manual will guide you through the options that are available to create a stunning profile page. 

Before starting it's good to know that your account and your profile page are two separate subjects, although they are linked to each other. When your log in, you'll see a 'My account' item in the menu bar at the top the website pages. Clicking on the 'My account' item will guide you to your own profile page. This page could be somewhat empty, or already contain some content when you filled out the appropriate forms during registration. On top of your profile page, you'll see a couple of tabs. From left to right, you'll find: View, Edit Account, Notifications, Track. With these tabs you can switch between the forms you need to set up your account and your personal profile page. The color of the 'active' tab (gray) will differ from the rest.  When you click on 'My account', you're actually viewing your profile page, just as this can be viewed by other members. The 'View' tab will be highlighted. When you click on the 'Edit Account' tab, you'll be redirected to the settings pages that can only be viewed and adjusted by yourself.  

So, to change your personal profile page, click on the 'Edit Account' tab. Below the first row of tabs, a second row of sub-tabs will appear. Just like mentioned above, the active sub-tab is indicated with a color mark, this time a gray colored line below the name of the tab. The two sub-tabs on the left belong to the settings form of your profile page ('profile') and the settings form of your account ('account settings'). Now you know how to find the appropriate settings forms, we'll describe them in detail.
 

Account settings form:

  
Account information This contains your username and your e-mail address. On the pull-down menu 'Show my profile to' choose for 'Only myself' or 'Only my buddies' to set your personal profile page private.
Picture This is your avatar. The picture you upload here, will be shown on your comments, the user gallery and buddylists, but only visible for registered members. You can upload any picture that adheres to the 'Terms and Conditions' and to the maximum picture sizes. To be used as avatar, the picture will automatically be converted to a 85 pixels square image.
Interface language settings Choose your preferred language. This setting applies to the menu's and a some parts of the content.
Organic groups settings This is to adjust the notification settings for group members. Only applicable when you're member of a group.
Private message settings Check this box when you want to receive private messages. The advantage of private messaging is that your e-mail address won't be visible for your messaging contacts.
Comment settings Leave your signature to be used in your posts here.
Email settings Check this box only if you only want to receive non-HTML emails.
Messaging and Notifications settings With this setting you can specify how to receive content update notifications and their frequency. The notifications you would like to receive, can be specified in the Notifications tab on top of your profile page.

When you've run through all this, don't forget to answer the Math Question before hitting the 'Submit' button at the bottom of the form.
 
Profile form:  
Title of your profile You can fill out everything here, but we prefer you use your username.
Basic info Leave here your 'real' name and check the options for gender, marital status, sexual orientation, role and zodiac sign that apply to you.
About Leave here an attractive description of yourself here. You can also specify what you're looking for at this website. Press down theCtrl-button to select multiple options.
Categories Check your favourite parties, press down the Ctrl-button to select multiple. Use the other form fields to leave your interests, favourite music, favourite reading and favourite movies. Click on the one of the most used tags (below the form field), or fill them out by yourself. Be sure to separate them with a comma. During typing the website will come up with tags already stored in the database. Use these suggestions for appropriate linking through the site.
Features Fill in your features like length, figure and dressing style.
My links Here you can leave the URL of your homepage or other websites you like to visit.
My pictures Your personal profile page also contains a small picture gallery. Upload your best pics to beautify your page. Please adhere to the 'Terms and Conditions'.
 
When you've run through all this, don't forget to answer the Math Question before hitting the 'Submit' button at the bottom of the form. After saving, you'll be redirected to 'View' tab to check whether your adjustments are in effect.
