Party review Boudoir Bizarre, july 7th 2007, Koog a/d Zaan, The Netherlands
Steamy Windows.
Summer just won't take off this year in Holland, so why not look up the heat ourselves? And we didn't even need to go far south this time. We stayed close to home and traveled to the panoramic little town of "Koog aan de Zaan". On this magical day dated 7/7/7, the Boudoir Bizarre team once again stretched the limits of imagination and transformed "the Waakzaamheid", (name of the venue), into a Casino Royale. Good fortune to all, we'd say. Only conditions were the proper attire and a good mood.
Nothing wrong with our moods, but... what to wear? The special theme dresscode is, other than restricting, mostly inspiring and a challenge. Apart from Latex, PVC, leather, uniforms, erotic gothic, etc... you know, the usual... This time Sexy Charleston and Gangster threads were added to the mandatory dresscode. More than enough challenges te dress up we'd think, but a little effort was definitely required. Not that easy for everybody.
The sixth edition of Boudoir Bizarre this was, already. We haven't missed one yet and I guess that really tells a lot about how we feel about this particular party. In the meantime it's becoming pretty clear to us, that Boudoir Bizarre is getting amongst the 'leading' fetishparties in Holland. And judging by the fact that this time there were quit a few foreign-languaged people around, it would seem that the name is getting known abroad as well. To us that would be a big plus, 'cause it would mean a good opportunity to see new faces and meeting new people, in stead of running into the same faces every party, fun as they are though.
Summertime still lingering on, daylight hadn't completely vanished when we stepped onto the red carpet streched out in front of the venue. But in spite the early hour, the entrance was already full of people and indicating the coming big crowd. However we found the entrance easily and welcomed by a genuine Goombah Bouncer. We took most preparations back home so we were quickly getting ready to party and slightly amused by watching the struggles of others trying to get into their latex and other outfits. So even waiting for the wardrobe was fun already. Because of the (expected) temperature we didn't choose for a full latex outfit this time. We'll save that for the winter edition. And it was the right choice.
After the formalities at the door and approved by the cute Door bitches, (Not all that Bitchy, really) we landed in the middle of the party. Pretty crowded, so soon? This time we were not welcomed by the expected dark-gothic sounds, but by a very smartly dressed Cyber-Goth DJ, DistortedBoy. His music consists of a combination of alternative and more mainstream house, all of it, very inviting dance music. Excellent to get into the mood and between the early wandering around the venue and meeting friends and, off course, to dance.
And yes, it was hot... Fortunately there were several little corners to cool down a bit. We reported back to the bar frequently to get our refreshments with our tickets who this time looked like playing cards with the Boudoir Bizarre Flyer babes on them. We situated ourselves at a (relatively) quit spot to chat an meet our party friends and acquaintances and admire all outfits. And the scenery... A beautifully decorated DJ booth, giant playing cards hanging on the ceiling, two big video screens with fitting visuals by V-Tox, a Wheel of Fortune in the lobby and lots and lots of partypeeps in the comfy and kinda pub-like feeling downstairs lounge. Too bad it was so busy here we couldn't really see everything, so we figured we'd try later. A bit naive, I admit, thinking it would be less crowdy then. Later didn't mean less people. Unfortunately the small stage is all the way back in the lounge, so we didn't see much of the shows on there.
So back to the main room we went to see if and how many people actually picked up on the 'Casino Royale' dresscode. On the way there, Hostess Antoinette persuaded us to buy 2 tickets for the Wheel of Fortune. The little kiss for good luck worked out well as we would find out later that night. A quick look at the prizes and a little calculation of the odds we figured, it was a good bet. On our way to the DJ booth, manned by "the Capone Brothers", also known as "Peppie & Kokkie", also known as the Boudoir Resident DJ's we enjoyed all the people in mostly amazing, but sometimes funny outfits. Quite a few did actually went for the theme dresscode. Al Capones, Tuxedo's, Charleston Girls, 3 piece Latex suits, beautiful Goths, sexy ladies in corsets, a beautiful sexy latex nun and don't forget the pimpy outfits from Nico2000 and Dr.Mad, the organizers themselves.
Around one, smack in the middle of our dancing, suddenly the music died down and on dramatic sounds the MC announced the first shows on the main stage. The Harbor Pearls. Two very cute, pink lady rabbits, the Funny Bunnies, performing the sweetest Burlesque striptease and song. Very entertaining. This followed by a classic looking couple giving us a Tango in Fetish style. This dance, in itself already sensual and arousing, became just that even more when the dominating man blindfolded the girl and undid her of all her clothes without interrupting the dance. Couldn't have been easy for the girl.
After these two show the curtain, (yes a real curtain, two infact) closed and without delay the DJ basted off once more. We continued our dwelling around, (our favourite party occupancy) and by way of the lounge we found ourselves on the second floor in the playroom, the darkroom behind that and back to the balcony lounge again. A good place and time to catch a breath, chat some more, look around some more and even dance a little, (as I can on 50 square centimeters). In this lounge there always has been a sort of rack-like piece of furniture. And sometimes you'll see exciting thing happening here. We witnessed the cute, but no doubt sinful latex nun, undergoing her penance by hand of her Master(s), while clamping her fists round the steel bars of the rack.
Back again on the dance floor, for the last of the Main Stage performances. During the first, two big, black leather clad kittens in straightjackets and ropes went at eachother as soon as they escaped from the bondage. Just to be retrained again just as fast. We didn't think they deserved that. But already the made room for the last show by malificent Martini & Mortimer. He played a bored, drunk puppet master, changing a doll into a beautiful and gracious dancing girl. Together they fired up each others passion, until breaking point and he had no choice as to subdue her and change her back into the doll she was before. Good to see that the search for original and eccentric shows by the organizers paid off again.
At the wheel of Fortune we found out we became the proud owner of a LUST magazine T-Shirt... Or an almost T-shirt. If only it had more cloth. Ah well, maybe the second ticket would give us a 'bigger' price? Anyway, we danced some more, we chatted some more, we looked around some more. By now without missing a beat, the Capone Brothers made way for DJ Dendrite. Talk about hardcore, sometimes a little too hard for us, but then again, something for everybody, right? Although we feel by getting to mainstream, Boudoir Bizarre looses a little of it's alternative nature. Not a big deal, since we lost ourselves in the party so much, we missed the last turns of the wheel of fortune. No harm done, cause we still got the tickets and apparently prizes can still be collected.
At the exit we ran into our two hosts, Marcel & Nico, who looked at least as tired as we felt. Hopefully Marcel did find his party visitor with a Footmassage Fetish. We didn't wait to find out. For the diehards the party actually went on for extra hour. Good decision, since the dancefloor was still packed at 6 AM and they didn't look like they were done partying yet.
Outside daylight was already showing. We looked at each other very satisfied after again a great Boudoir Bizarre. And oh yes... those little programs posted all over the place...? Very convenient.
